God is good and only good!

1 John 1:5 NKJV  This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

God’s goodwill is salvation for today and eternity!

The common belief in Christianity is that our Father had a dramatic personality change from the Old Testament to most of the New Testament, yet He again reverts back to wrathful evil ways in the book of Revelations.  This idea of having a changing nature & personality is simply not true!  Jesus and Father are one.  If you’ve seen Jesus, then you’ve seen the Father.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever; therefore, Father also has the same unchanging nature & character throughout all of time, and that character & nature is what Jesus revealed to us through His good deeds in the gospels (and there were no evil deeds like the god of the OT abounded in).  Holy Spirit also says that there is no variation or shadow of turning with Father.  Here are the scriptures that prove these points:

John 14:7-11 NKJV  If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”  (8)  Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”  (9)  Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?  (10)  Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.  (11)  Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.”

Hebrews 13:8 NKJV  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

James 1:17 NKJV  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

God is not doubleminded – He has a goodwill and does not deviate from it.  He is good and only good – He is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.  Every good thing is from Father, yet nothing evil (no darkness) is from Him.  He is a fountain of blessing only and not cursing.  You see, He can’t teach us not to curse (invoke evil upon) people, yet do those things Himself.  Holy Spirit said that both blessing & cursing should not come from our mouths – blessing only should come forth.  God is not a hypocrite, therefore because He instructs us not to curse people, He doesn’t curse people either.  God is not doubleminded such that He is simultaneously the author of law & curse, yet also the redeemer from it.  He is not the author of sickness & death, and also the redeemer from it.  Everything that Jesus redeemed us from, He and Father are not the authors of.

James 3:8-12 NKJV  But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.  (9)  With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.  (10)  Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.  (11)  Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?  (12)  Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

Salvation of all

Keeping in mind that Father / Son / Holy Spirit are unchanging in nature, let’s now get an overview of His goodwill and full salvation through Jesus.  Our Father’s desire is that all men be saved, in fact Holy Spirit declares that “God is the savior of all mankind especially those who believe.”  Ultimately all mankind will be saved, some in this age, some later on.  Those who believe in this age will experience present-life benefits in addition to eternal life with God.

1 Timothy 2:3-6 NKJV  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,  (4)  who desires all men to be saved (sōzō) and to come to the knowledge of the truth.  (5)  For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,  (6)  who gave Himself a ransom for ALL, to be testified (evident) in due time

1 Timothy 4:10 NKJV  For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

When we study about salvation, we see that Jesus provides us with “full salvation” that covers everything we need in this life, plus it provides for eternal life with Him.  In this present life our salvation includes all these aspects:

      • Deliverance, rescue, saving
      • Protection, preservation, being kept safe & sound
      • Healing & health
      • Aid & assistance of God
      • Victory in life
      • Prosperity & provision
      • Welfare: good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity

Looking ahead into eternity, the bible tells us of these attributes of life-after-death for those who believe in Jesus and have accepted His salvation:

      • Everlasting life with God
      • Joy being in the presence of Father & Jesus
      • Life in Paradise
      • We will have a mansion in our Father’s house
      • Our bodies will be glorious like resurrected Jesus
      • No more tears, sorrow, or crying
      • No more sickness and pain
      • No more death

This is a great salvation!  Amen!  Every aspect of salvation works the same way.  We need to know & believe what Jesus has done for us, we need to confess it with our mouths, and then we will receive it.  Most Christians believe in little more than, “My sins are forgiven and I get to go to heaven when I die.”  There is so much more to salvation than this!  Jesus came to this world to bring us “sōzō” salvation:

John 3:17 NKJV  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.(G4982)

Sōzō, G4982, Definition:

    1.  Save (physically & eternally), deliver
    2.  Protect, preserve, keep safe and sound
    3.  Heal, be (made) whole
    4.  Do well (prosperity / provision)
    5.  Rescue from danger or destruction
    6.  Rescue one from injury or peril
    7.  Save a suffering one (from perishing, from disease)
    8.  Make well, heal, restore to health
    9.  Preserve one who is in danger of destruction, to save, or to rescue

Good God Foundation

Now that we have a taste of the good things that come by way of salvation through Jesus, let’s look at some key characteristics of God vs. Satan so that we can be clear about their works.  Let’s not forget that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are unchanging, so when we look at the following passages these truths are throughout all of time – there is no exception for the Old Testament or for End Times.  God is always the same past, present, and future.

In the Old Testament, we have multiple people who called down fire from heaven in the name Yahweh:  Moses, Elijah, David, and Solomon.  In Elijah’s case, he called down fire and burned alive 102 men.  People commonly believe that this was a work of true God and that somehow it was a righteous & holy thing to kill these people.  However, what does Jesus think about burning alive people?  He is utterly opposed to it!  Jesus rebuked His disciples who wanted to call down fire like Elijah to burn alive the Samaritans who rejected Him.  Jesus told them that they were of the wrong manner of spirit.  Jesus said that He did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.  Because Jesus is unchanging, and because He is one with Father, therefore the truth is that Father & Son are always saviors and never destroyers – past, present, and future!  Amen!

Luke 9:52-56 NKJV  … And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him.  (53)  But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem.  (54)  And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?”  (55)  But He turned and rebuked them, and said, You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.  (56)  For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village.

According to Jesus, killing is of the wrong manner of spirit, and in particular Jesus said it is the thief (Satan) who steals, kills, and destroys.  He Himself is the source of life and life in abundance.  Furthermore, we have more information about “fire from heaven” from the book of Revelations which tells us a first beast already came, and a second beast is coming.  The second beast will operate in the same authority as the first beast, and therefore will cause fire to come down from heaven like the first beast did.  This is a supernatural sign that causes people to believe that the beast is actually God, thus, they are deceived into worshiping him.  This miraculous sign of calling down fire from heaven which James & John desired to do, and Moses, Elijah, David, and Solomon actually did, is a work of the first beast which was present in the Old Testament and who operated in the names Yahweh, God, and Leviathan.

John 10:10 NKJV  The thief (devil) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroyI (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Revelation 13:11-14 NKJV  Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.  (12)  And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.  (13)  He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.  (14)  And he deceives those who dwell on the earth—by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.

Let’s talk some more about John 10:10…  Because of True God’s unchanging nature, all the stealing, killing, and destroying in the bible is purely the work of Satan and his kingdom.  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are utterly opposed to these evil works.  Jesus came to earth to destroy the works of the devil.  How did Jesus “destroy” the works of the devil?  Jesus didn’t destroy with violence or death, but rather Jesus suffered various things on our behalf which allow us to be redeemed from sin & death, which allow us to be redeemed from law & curse, etc.  Death is “destroyed” by way of Jesus providing us with resurrection life.  Sinful nature is “destroyed” by our old man (sinful nature) being figuratively “crucified with Christ.”  We are born again with a new nature – with the do-right (righteous) nature of God.  Satan was “destroyed” by Jesus washing away our sins and by His nailing of the law to the cross.  These works of Jesus stripped Satan of authority to rule & reign over mankind.  Amen!

People commonly think that Father had a personality change after Jesus went to the cross.  Their reasoning is severely flawed!  Let us realize that when Jesus spoke John 10:10 it was still the Old Covenant.  No one was redeemed.  Sin was not washed away.  Law and curse were still active.  Nothing had changed!  So if Jesus said that stealing, killing, and destroying were the works of Satan, then that would be a prevailing truth throughout all of the OT, and even throughout all of time.  Furthermore, the Holy Spirit in Acts 10:38 says that Jesus was going about healing people who were oppressed by the devil.  Interestingly, Deuteronomy 28:61 says that Yahweh is responsible for every sickness & disease!  If all killing and destroying is of the thief (Satan), and if Jesus was healing those who were oppressed by the devil, then because Yahweh claims responsibility for all sickness & disease he therefore is the devil himself!  If someone has sickness they are oppressed by the devil.  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not responsible for sickness, stealing, killing, nor destroying.  These works are 100% from the devil, yet Yahweh claimed responsibility for these deeds, so who is Yahweh?  The devil!

Acts 10:38 NKJV  how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Let’s look at a couple more passages…  Holy Spirit tells us that death is an enemy of God.  He also tells us that Jesus came to this earth specifically to destroy “him who had the power of death, that is the devil.”  If death is an enemy of God, and Jesus came to destroy the devil who had the power of death, then it cannot be more obvious that death is purely of the devil!  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit do not possess the power of death!  It is as simple as that!  In order for God to kill someone, He would literally have to call up Satan and ask him to borrow his power of death because He does not possess it – period!  This will never happen, however, because God is not doubleminded and He does not bless one day and curse the next day.  His goodwill is consistent throughout all of time.  Amen!

1 Corinthians 15:26 NKJV  The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

Hebrews 2:14 NKJV  Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil

Our conclusion is that all sickness, stealing, killing, destroying, cursing, and anything related is purely of the devil!  Healing, protection, provision, eternal life, and every other aspect of salvation are of our Father and worked through Jesus.  God is good and only good – He is light and in Him is no darkness at all.  No exceptions!  Amen!
